Pitney Bowes Software’s Geosk™ platform provides the world’s broadest set of geospatial data through a cloud-based ‘iTunes’ style portal enabling one-stop shop 'data on demand'. For data consumers, the Geosk™ Marketplace provides access to the geospatial industry’s largest data catalogue from Pitney Bowes Software alongside content from third-party data providers. The Geosk™ Library, another capability within the Geosk Platform, provides larger enterprises with the capability to store, share, and manage geospatial data from a cloud-based content library or via an appliance from within a company's firewall.
The Geosk Platform overcomes the problems and inefficiencies currently associated with finding, accessing and utilising geospatial data. Identifying, viewing, navigating and reviewing the different types of data available in different formats from multiple geospatial data vendors typically takes hours or days depending on the size and complexity of the data required. The Geosk Platform capability will deliver data to the user in as little as just 60 seconds. Supporting leading GIS mapping and analysis applications to include MapInfo Professional®, as well as applications from other GIS vendors; GIS users or geospatial data consumers will now have the ability to quickly and easily identify the specific data required, in the right form, at the right level of aggregation so it can be downloaded, transformed and customized in the specific format of their choice.
