Welcome to the download page of the SpatialWare v4.8.708 for Microsoft SQL Server patch.

This installer will patch the following releases:

  • SpatialWare v4.8 for Microsoft SQL Server
  • SpatialWare v4.8.503 for Microsoft SQL Server
  • SpatialWare v4.8.617 for Microsoft SQL Server

Please see the instructions below to download and install this file. This patch corrects:

  • Rare false positives from ST_Overlaps predicate
  • Problems that occur when creating databases using some collations other than SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
  • Issues with the sp_spatial_query, such as incorrect results, incorrect column and table names, and hanging queries when retrieving string data of length zero
  • Improves performance in conjunction with MapXtreme 2004 v6.1 and later
  • Improves performance and accuracy of sp_nearest stored procedure
  • Updated User Guide

Download Requirements

You must have Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (Service Pack 3 or later) installed and running on one of the following:

  • Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3) - Professional or Server or Advanced Server
  • Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 1 or 2)
  • Windows 2003 Server - SE or EE

Please note the following prior to installation:

  • For each instance of SpatialWare the patch needs to be applied.
  • It is recommended to make the SpatialWare databases read\write prior to applying the patch and if necessary reset to read-only afterwards. This will allow for proper upgrading.
  • The patch install will also despatialize the model database, if it has previously been spatialized.

Download and Install Instructions

  1. Back up your spatial databases
  2. Create a temporary directory on your hard drive such as c:\TEMP
  3. Download sw48_708.exe to the temporary directory created in step 1.
  4. sw48_708.exe is a self-extracting zip file. Double click the file in Windows explorer or run the file from a command line.
  5. The self-extracting zip file when initiated will ask you where to download the files, please choose a temporary directory, preferably the directory created in step 1.
  6. Please navigate to where the files were unzipped to and double click or run SETUP.EXE.
  7. The installer setup will begin, please answer the questions appropriately.
  8. SpatialWare 4.8.708 is now installed on your system.
